This is a proposal to build a new website for COMPANY NAME. The site will be built on the WordPress platform. The purpose of this redesign is to help build the brand and ultimately generate more business. Initially, the site and structure will be built using the content pulled from the old website.

This is a project that I am quite excited to potentially work on! I feel we are uniquely suited for it because we’ve built every piece of this site in one form or another in the past and have spent years maintaining similar websites. From membership functions to custom survey results displays, your site will have a lot of functionality that is both a challenge and a delight to put together (for us coders, anyway.)

WordPress is a robust Content Management System (CMS) and publishing platform for websites. What this means to you is that it is a tool that will allow you to edit your own content, add just about any functionality you could ever think of down the road, and make major visual changes more easily in the future. It also helps significantly reduce development time and cost because it acts as a starting-point for us.

We will be working with an underlying theme platform and customizing it to our needs. Visually, the site will be clean, modern, and visually stunning through the use of photography and modern design techniques. It will be fully mobile-friendly and built with modern web standards in mind.

The content of the website will be editable using a front-end editor. This tool allows you to view pages exactly how they appear, click on what you want to change, and change it right there without any complicated code or backend. Editing has never been easier or more intuitive.

This proposal itself was actually built using such a tool!

Under this proposal, the content and site map will remain the same as it is on the current website. This list of pages to be included is as follows:

Each of these pages will be “designed” to some extent and be customized to be more visually appealing and engaging.

Part of what distinguishes us from other web development agencies is our rapid development cycle. We are able to combine our design and development phases into one, which means that when we have our first design draft completed, you’ll be able to test it out in a living, breathing site right in your browser.

Don’t like the first draft? No problem! We’ll be able to change anything you want from the fonts to the colors to the entire layout itself. And we’ll be able to do it quickly, allowing you to see the changes shortly after requesting them. And what’s more: we allow up to three major rounds of revisions so that when we’re all done, your site will be exactly how you want it.

Great photography and visuals are typically critical to any website and that applies to yours. We will be relying on these visuals and it will be up to you to provide any necessary files. If any area is lacking, we may decide to use stock photography and graphics to fill in the holes.

A logo is an extremely important piece of branding for any business, and absolutely critical for a website, as it is essentially the cornerstone to the whole thing.

The site will include a basic contact form for visitors to contact you on your contact page.

The website will have a blogging function built-in. Training for these features is included as requested, per the terms of the training outlined in a later section. You do not need to use this functionality if you don’t wish to.

We will use Google Analytics to track information about visitors and their usage.

We will provide as much training as you need for up to 30 days from the time the site goes live. I highly recommend you utilize this to get acquainted with the website and how it functions. This can be used to learn how to:

• Work with the frontend editor
• Change wording on any page
• Change or add colors/layout/content on any page
• Add appropriate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) information to pages
• Add new blog posts
• Much, much more!

Typically these trainings are in the form of video tutorials which can be watched and re-watched whenever needed. If you have specific needs or requests, custom videos tailored to your specific website can even be made.

We will leave room to add anything that’s needed down the road. Whether that means more pages or any kind of additional functionality, we can add it! The existing content will also be extremely easy to edit for you, and you can of course have us help you with anything you need as well.

Once initial payment is made and any additional content additions or alterations are submitted, I estimate 2-3 weeks for the initial build, followed by 3-6 weeks of revisions and testing. After that, we’ll be ready to launch. Total time then for construction would be about 5-9 weeks.

We are interested in long-term relationships with our clients, and strongly believe that those relationships should be built on trust and mutual benefit. When you build a site with us, it’s yours! You are free to take it wherever you like and have anyone work on it for you.

We want you to stay with us because you want to, not because you have no choice.

We do retain the rights to re-use certain site elements and other proprietary code, and of course most plugins (and WordPress itself) come with their own licenses, but you’ll never need to worry about whether you truly have control of your own website. Once you’ve paid: it’s yours!
