The day has come for me to announce the release of the new Portastand.com website. Hot off the heels of the launch last week of the Society of Clinical Psychology Website, I’ve got back-to-back sites going live. It’s a good feeling!
Working closely with the good folks at Portastand, we’ve produced a website I think we can all be proud of. If you have never heard of them, make sure you check them out. They produce world-class music stands that outshine everything else out there. An early iteration of their motto read something like, “The only music stand that actually works,” and it’s true! These things have impeccable build quality, are easy to use, and really just put every other stand to shame.
We wanted to create a clean, easy-to-use website that really showcased the product and made it easy for people to buy one. A simple, uncluttered homepage was key to achieving this. Almost all of the products can be reached directly from the menu at the top, and a single block of text under the slider reveals what Portastand is all about. A newsletter signup serves as a strong call-to-action directly on the homepage.
The site is built on WordPress, with WooCommerce being used as the shopping cart and eCommerce platform. These two integrate seamlessly with each other in both the front-end and the back-end, allowing visitors to experience a seamless shopping experience. The great people at Portastand can easily log in and edit any content they wish, as well as add, remove, or modify and products in the system. Orders are automatically sent through when anyone orders, minimizing the necessary workload per order.
Like most of my websites, this one is fully responsive. The site will feel just as at-home on a large-format desktop monitor as it does on your smartphone. Even the shopping cart system adjusts seamlessly, allowing mobile users to make purchases just as easily as their desktop-bound counterparts.
